So Trivial

Do you ever have any spiritual
Ah-Ha moments?

Lately I have had some smallish ones.
Little did I know that they were the forerunners to a much larger one.

One that was so big...
I have been forever changed.

I suddenly realized, through viewing a photo
journal of places around the world that
are full of war, extreme poverty, and despair, that my problems,
or anything I might call a problem,
well...
just really aren't problems at all.

In the big scheme of things...
most are just so trivial.

After being shown my foolish and
selfish ways, I found myself once again
absolutely ASTOUNDED
at the grace of God.

Astounded at how He loves me...all of me...
even when I am not "getting it".

And He loves me until I do "get it".

Unfathomable grace,
for an undeserving soul.

Lord, may my heart and life reflect
the radiance of your love to those around
me, and may I not turn away from those
in need, no matter where they are.

A Little Time

Went to the beach this morning
with the promise of lovely beach weather!!

The shore birds were out
and we thought we'd be there
for hours!

Soooo lovely, but then intermittent mist and light rain took over.

We huddled under towels and our umbrella,
the rain was quite cold...
but were so glad to have gone and had
a. little. time.

Time away from the demands of
busy days, of expectations, of obligations.
Time to let salt air, sandy toes,
and foamy waves wash away
any trace of any care...
if only for a while.
sigh...

Thanking God for the amazing beauty
He created for all of us to enjoy.

Seek out the beauty around you...
bask in it if only for a while.
then thank God.

All of creation
tells of His great love for us!
His love and mercy really are
boundless.
Have a blessed week, my friends,
Becky

My Heart Swells

OH HELLO 2014!

I just have to say that one of my best
discoveries in blogland was finding the online journal "A Holy Experience".

I visited this morning...something I don't always have time to do.

My heart just began to swell with hope, joy, and glorious expectation of what this new year may hold for me spiritually.

I look around and wonder, "How Lord?"

"How can I accomplish this?"  "This is
too big and too much for me"

These truths Ann shared helped me to focus.

Looking back, it had been hard and it had been beautiful and it had been ugly and it had all been grace

And looking forward, she would smile braver.
This would be the year of No Fear.
She would murmur it: “Happy No-Fear New Year!”
She preached Gospel to herself:
Sure, Mount Everest might loom in front of you, that mountain you have to climb in the next 364 days.
But the deal is:
Every mountain that every Christian ever faces, the Lord levels with sufficient grace: The Lord Will Provide.

You don’t have to climb mountains named I Will Perform.
You don’t have to climb mountains named I Will Produce.

If you haven't taken the opportunity to visit Ann, I hope you will.  So much encouragement, joy, real life...so much Jesus! Just love it!!

May you find Jesus to be ALL you truly need in 2014!!
Joyful Hugs to You All,
Becky

Ann Voscamp-The One Way You can Keep Opening the Presents

There is a blog I visit that I am always completely blessed and nourished by...it is the blog of Ann Voscamp...
Jesus lover, wife, mother, author, speaker.

Ann, like many of us, is down to earth, living out her faith in Christ through the day to day clamor and mess of real life...
and loving and praising Jesus through it all.

She has written a post called:
This post is so lovely...you will miss out if you don't read it and soak it in.

Every day {every minute} is a fabulous adventure with Him!!

Ablaze With Hope!

Hello friends!

photo via

Today I just want to encourage your heart
and remind you {and me} that in spite of the
turmoil in our country and the world, we can
be on fire and blaze with hope!!

After all, we've read the Book.  We know
the end of the story...and...

WE WIN!!

If this song by Natalie Grant doesn't set your
heart ablaze with hope and joy...check your pulse!!

It sure encouraged me, and I will be singing it all week!!

Have a wonderful week,
and pass this on to someone who needs
to be encouraged!!

Hugs and Joy,
Becky

Buried and Alive!

Hello Friends.

It's been way too long.

Saw this today, and it spoke to me
because it is exactly where I am.

And there truly is no better place!!

It won't take away all we deal with,
but knowing that I am buried in
His grace is what helps
me put one foot in front of the other
to keep climbing the mountains in
my life.

His grace is life sustaining...
more so than food or water.
So I cling to the Vine,
and somehow...
with all the sometimes tangled
mess of my life,
the Vinedresser snips and prunes, and manages to cultivate plump juicy spiritual fruit in me.

Wonder of wonders...
that He would so lovingly tend to
all that concerns me...
and always...ALWAYS,
make something beautiful out of it all.

So incredibly thankful,
aren't you?

Splash some joy around,
and have a wonderful week!
Hugs,
Becky

Give Me Life

Happy Monday!

A fresh new week...
all kinds of things battling for
my attention and time.

We all have the same 24 hours
in a day, and it really does matter
how we spend our minutes. This is
something God is making me
increasingly aware of.

God's Word is to be my food.
And as I read it, ponder it, pray
about it; something wonderful happens...
My thoughts have order, my day
has direction, and my spirit is refreshed.

As I look to Him, He helps me to prioritize
my time, and to be more aware of each minute, so I don't waste time on unnecessary things.

Our time here is so brief.
I don't want to waste any of it
if I can help it!

Share His love and your smile today, ok?
Have a lovely week!
Hugs,
    Becky
